kinect 3D scanner update
Nels has been reworking the code to make the software run faster and eliminate unwanted points by controlling the dimensions of the capture area. We can now make multiple scans and export all the points in the same .ply file as either a mesh or point cloud. I am building a rotating scanning platform using a stepper motor and arduino that will be controlled by our code. When the platform is finished we can calibrate the distance between the kinect and the platform and we should get an accurate alignment of multiple scans.
